2025 March – Hole in One Alert

Congratulations to Terry Wall who managed his fourth career hole-in-one on Wednesday, acing the Par 3, 11th hole. Perfectly knocking a hybrid into the green, he says “all four of us saw the ball run all the way to the flag at the back, held our breath, and it disappeared.”

     Would you like a Spring break with some like-minded society members to celebrate the new golfing season?
 
     We have a mixed party of 14 booked at present, including four non-golfing ladies, so it will be very sociable and convivial.
Our one-night trip in 2023 went down really well so we now have a longer stay to fully appreciate the venue, the course, 
and the access on foot to the lovely town or a drive into the Cotswold countryside.

Dear Members,
 
As we recovery from the excesses of Christmas, I thought I would just let you know that we are still raising funds for RTS (Rubinstein-Taybi Syndrome) up to the AGM.

With that in mind, please think about bidding for the last two vouchers in the auction –  https://halbgs.org/auctions

 

I look forward to handing over a nice check to the RTS at Pine Ridge on the 23rd April.

2025 Captains Welcome

Dear Members,
 
Welcome to the 3rd year of the HAL Basingstoke Golf Society. I am truly honoured to be Captain this year and I will do everything I can to honour the traditions of our society as we continue to evolve. Looking back, 1988 appears an interesting year. Terry was our Captain, most of our trophies were contested with Terry taking more than his fair share ! I joined IBM in 1988 based in Birmingham, an interesting year indeed.
